Secured Entries also builds and installs custom planked wood doors. These are built with pre fabricated panels, and then high grade wood is nailed to each panel plank by plank. The door is then carefully measured into four equal sections and cut to produce a beautiful, hand crafted custom planked door. The custom planked door is probably about the most economical of all of the wood garage door products. There is a special backer that must be used for the panels but it isn’t nearly as expensive as a full wood backer would be, yet it is very difficult to tell a planked wood garage door from a custom wood garage door if it is built correctly. Everything must line up on the planked wood doors, from the panels to the wood grain to the cuts for each section. Although that is difficult to do and do correctly, Secured Entries has had a lot of experience doing these types of doors. The only way anyone would be able to tell that your door is a planked door and not a custom door is by looking at the garage door backer on the backside of your door--it’s a special material rather than being a solid wood product.
