Here is one home that Secured Entries did that demonstrates a flush wood door. Flush wood doors are the most cost efficient alternative to choosing a custom wood door, as there is no mill work or custom design involved in manufacturing this type of door. This door is also less expensive as it isn’t as heavy as some of our doors so it doesn’t require special heavy duty hardware which is more money than what the normal garage door will use. Our custom carriage house door, for example, can weigh up to 600 pounds or more! The flush wood door may only weigh 175 pounds or so and can use regular hardware whereas some of our other custom doors are much heavier and use commercial grade, 3” hardware. The flush wood door is the entry level wood door. The flush wood door still gives you the warmth and R-Value of a wood door without the increased cost of a paneled or carriage house type door. It is the first step toward our top of the line door, the carriage house door. |
