Skylights are a wonderful enhancement to your home, adding light and a look of the outdoors. Today’s skylights are very environmentally friendly, offering high R values and preventing the escape of warm or cold air, depending upon what season it is.

Skylights are now being manufactured with the option of screens so that you can open up your skylight and enjoy the fresh air. This type of skylight works like a normal window does, with a crank to open it and a screen between the glass and the outside air.

Secured Entries, Inc. can either give you an installed price for your new skylight or we will have it shipped to the jobsite for your subcontractors to install. Full instructions as well as all hardware needed to complete the job are included with every skylight that we sell.

Remember that when you’re selecting a glass type for your skylight, it is important to compare the optical and thermal properties of each type of glass and select the one that best matches your specific performance requirements. Glazing is one of the most important factors to consider when designing a skylight and you have several glazing options to choose from. We recommend using only real glass in lieu of translucent, acrylic panels. Glass provides superior thermal and optical properties, won't yellow or fade, and is much less susceptible to leakage after extended exposure to the harsh effects of an outdoor environment, especially a cold and snowy Chicago winter.
