The coach house door is another example of a custom wood door. Coach house doors are usually custom made per customer’s drawing or architectural drawing. This type of door is a matter of personal preference, as is the carriage house door or the standard wood door. Coach house doors, however, are usually manufactured with less of an R-Value due to the fact that most coach house doors are not typically 3” thick doors like most carriage house doors are. Coach house doors are usually a door which is 1 3/8” but the overlay and design make up the thickness and R-Value of a typical coach house door when compared to a typical carriage house door.
